Qualifications & Training

Dr Stiofan O Conghaile is a dual qualified Anaesthetist and Pain Specialist Physician.


He graduated from University College Dublin in Ireland before undertaking vocational training.


During this time he developed a strong interest in pain management. He trained both in Ireland and in Australia and completed specialist training both in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine.


Having gained comprehensive training and experience in all areas of pain management, Stiofan became a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2015.


Stiofan is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain and the Neuromodulation Society of Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to his work in Melbourne Pain Specialists, Stiofan also holds an appointment as a Pain Specialist Physician and Anaesthetist at the Austin Hospital in Heidelberg, Melbourne.


Education & Training

Stiofan also has strong interests in education, teaching and research and is involved in teaching medical students and trainees in both Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine.
